House Prices and Trends

The national house price index for Mexico rose 7.3% year on year in Q2 2026 and was +1.3% against the previous quarter, according to BIS, Residential property prices (nominal). A year earlier the annual rate was +8.7%, so growth has cooled over twelve months. More recently, though, the annual rate has eased from the previous quarter, which suggests the market is losing some steam even as prices stay well above year-ago levels.

Financing and Interest Rates

Banco de México’s policy rate was 6.50% in September 2026 (BIS, Central bank policy rates). Rates have come down 1.00 points over the past year, easing mortgage costs and widening the pool of buyers who qualify for financing.
